Defendant-appellant, James Arthur Calhoun, pleaded guilty in the Circuit Court for Prince Georges County (Blackwell, J.) to two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon and two counts of use of a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence, arising from two separate grocery store robberies in 1978. Pursuant to Md. Ann. Code, art. 27, ? 643B (1979 Cum. Supp.), he was sentenced to a total of fifty years without the possibility of parole.
